The Department of Justice paid attention to the new treatment Apple revealed for the Roblox as part of the antitrust probe campaign. The App Store may treat Roblox differently than other games, as the Department of Justice suspects. After the Epic Games massive scandal, Apple is at the center of US officials’ attention.

The first warning on the potentially different Roblox operation on the App Store came from the US Government after Apple’s discretion of famous Fortnite developers Epic Games. For months Epic Games has been trying to win the legal battle with Apple to use their App Store for players. It was Epic who claimed that Apple is biased and provided Roblox a free pass. According to them, the App Store offers some Roblox games for free to their users. Epic, on the other hand, also wants to receive similar treatment from the main iOS app store.

Apple denies Epic’s accusations, saying that Roblox, due to numerous features it provides, is not the game. We can’t help but agree with this statement, since Roblox is a platform for a wide range of games. Apple underlines these specifics. However, after the argument, the Roblox website was updated and every “game” description of Roblox disappeared.

Meanwhile, the Department of Justice is searching for the truth in this dispute. They ask Roblox to name the difference between them and the games. If the arguments are not persuasive enough, officials begin to consider that Apple provides special treatment to Roblox. They may start the antitrust case against the tech corporation. While we don’t know what may happen with Apple in case DoJ finds them guilty, there is one thing we can say for sure: all game developers want to receive more rights and freedom working on the App Store.

How often do you use App Store? Do you download games directly from the website or from Apple? Share your thoughts in the comments.
