In a fight against election misinformation, YouTube has taken down a video related to the last year’s attack on the US Capitol. It was tightly connected to former President Donald Trump and his unlawful decisions during the governmental run.

YouTube spokesperson Ivy Choi has stated that the platform does not support the spread of content that contains false claims or fraud that could possibly affect the outcome of the US presidential election in 2020. This policy doesn’t exclude any companies or events, so the video by the January 6th Committee channel was rightfully removed.

Since then, the Committee still hasn’t given any direct response regarding the problem. Right now, it is going through public hearings related to the attack on the seat of the US government on January 6, 2021, trying to enforce Donald Trump’s power in the run.

Currently, there is no information on what video exactly was taken down, but some reports claim that it was a clip of Trump saying accusations about the righteousness of the election. Right now, it is known that Trump has tried to pressure vice president Mike Pence on the illegal overrun of the US election for 2020. The committee is still investigating the events of said schemes against the government.

The former president was accused of trying to reprimand Pence for not going along with him. The committee is going to the third public hearing unfolding the truth of the unlawful decisions made by Trump. The pressure campaign wasn’t supported publicly and is still under investigation as to how it happened. The committee’s main point holds Trump partly responsible for the violence at the Capitol, which resulted in at least 5 deaths.
