The days of sharing your Netflix password with your buddies may soon come to an end. A week ago, the streaming pioneer unveiled that the service subscribers may soon have to pay for sharing their accounts with users who live outside one household. Read on to learn more information on the topic.

Netflix’s most recent attempt to prevent unauthorized password-sharing suggests charging subscribers with accounts in multiple homes an additional monthly fee. This new feature is currently being put through its paces in several South American countries, granting users the possibility to share their standard or premium subscription with up to two more people. The company will be testing the feature for some time, prior to introducing it on a global scale.

Based on the streaming giant’s terms and conditions, account-sharing is not allowed. However, the company has been closing its eyes on these instances throughout the years. About 6 years ago, Netflix even said that there’s nothing wrong with password sharing, as long as you didn’t earn from selling your account info.

In addition to this, the company is exploring another feature that allows you to move your profile data to a new account or a subaccount, while saving such details as what you've watched and what the service has recommended to you. Each subaccount will be given its own login details. To boost this modification, members within all subscription plans can stimulate those engaged in sharing their accounts to move their profiles, either to new accounts or subaccounts.

If you want to make use of your membership long-distance, you’re free to do it. This time, though, you will have to verify your identity via a specific confirmation code. Don't hesitate to express your views on the subject in the comments section below. Your perspective is highly valued.
