Black Myth: Wukong has once again significantly contributed to setting a new milestone. During the recent weekend, Steam achieved an unprecedented peak with over 37 million users online simultaneously. As evidenced by the snapshot shared below, on Sunday, August 25th, Valve's service saw an astounding 37,240,223 people logging in.

Which factor spearheaded this impressive achievement? Indeed, it was Black Myth: Wukong, which had earlier set its own record by topping the charts for the highest number of simultaneous players for a single-player title on Steam and garnering the most attention on live-streaming platforms in China from the outset.

Adding to the buzz, the creators of Black Myth: Wukong confirmed the sale of a remarkable 10 million copies across different platforms on Friday. Daniel Ahmad, an analyst at Niko Partners, remarked, "This positions it among the quickest-selling titles ever, outpacing sales of Elden Ring and Hogwarts Legacy within a similar period.”

Shifting focus back to the Steam milestone - the Steam charts reveal that over the weekend, Black Myth: Wukong not only led sales but was also the most engaged title. It continues to maintain these rankings as of this writing (refer to the image below).

Accompanying Black Myth: Wukong is on the list of Steam's top five most engaged games, which are Counter-Strike 2, Banana, Dota 2, and PUBG: Battlegrounds.

One might wonder if we'll witness Steam's user count climbing past 40 million concurrent players soon. In additional Valve news, this weekend saw the company finally announce, after much anticipation, its new shooter title, Deadlock. Information from the game's store page tells us that "Deadlock is a team-based shooter currently in the early stages of development."
