Russian-funded propaganda did not disappear even after social media announced their grand exodus from Russia. It spreads around the world fed by trolls paid by Russia. The pro-Kremlin audience is trying to attack YouTube and its channels.

After Russia attacked Ukraine in February, 24 companies around the world began to leave Russia. They are trying to stop Russian aggression in every way possible. While many social media only left the country, others are trying to remove their products from the shelves there. Microsoft, Apple, and Samsung have officially stopped selling and delivering their goods. Google works hard to stop pro-Kremlin false propaganda, using all tools YouTube has.

On March 11, YouTube officially blocked RT & Sputnik channels around Europe. They continue to cut the content that comes from suspicious sources. All channels funded by the Russian state were blocked as well. YouTube is removing any pro-Putin content. Both Sputnik and RT are the news agencies that work on Russia and spread disinformation about the war that Russia started. While conflict is escalating, these channels double their efforts to promote the official opinion of Putin, spreading lies around the world.

YouTube has revealed that it deleted 1 000 channels. In total, they contained 15 000 videos. Each of them violated the policy of YouTube. Apart from that YouTube has removed the monetization for the Russian content creators. They also removed the ability to spread ads with Russian propaganda. The company continues to work hard on stopping disinformation, hate speech, and violent graphic content that comes from pro-Kremlin paid creators.
