The Messenger treats the new lunar year seriously. It prepared a wide range of tools for its users to help them celebrate this event as well. These tools include AR effects and atmospheric stickers. Users of the app can share traditional red envelopes with each other via the 3D avatar feature.

The app even released a new pack of stickers in collaboration with designer Naomi Otsu. The pack contains a wide range of tiger images. It is made in the atmosphere of the Year of Tiger. Users can add stickers of cute tigers, walking tigers, or even tigers eating noodles in the conversations. If you feel like you have not celebrated the beginning of the year properly enough, you can check out the AR group effect called Lion Dance. It will show your avatar in a traditional lion costume.

If you want to change the chat theme, you can choose the tiger theme right now. There is also a change in the Word Effects. Outstanding tigers will fill your entire screen. It looks like Messenger is trying really hard to please the Tiger, symbol of the year, hoping to raise its market value this year.

Meta team offers its users to send red envelopes to their friends and family by using 3D Avatars they have created inside the VR community. The new feature is added to new tools for creating avatars. Yet, not everyone can use this service. For now, you have to be a citizen of Canada, the US, or Mexico to be able to use the stickers and send red envelopes to everyone. Red envelopes are traditional gifts for Lunar New Year in China that must bring happiness to anyone that receives them during the whole year. Lunar New Year is celebrated around the world by billions of people.

Have you already tried new stickers or chat themes? Are you celebrating the Lunar New Year? Feel free to express your opinions on the matter in the comment section below.
