Boomerang from Instagram
Boomerang from Instagram review
This is the tool you’re looking for if you ever feel bored by all the videos and photos available on your Instagram feed. Boomerang from Instagram is a creative and fun way in which you can give some life to your still shots. This excellent video app helps you create short yet action-packed videos which keep looping back and forth.
All the videos have to be shot within the application. Just like Hyperlapse, you don’t require an Instagram account or signing into Facebook to get going. Simple and fun to use, the Android and iOS app lets you enjoy the freedom to shoot videos in landscape or portrait. All the images will be saved in your camera roll.
Notably, this isn’t the only standalone app for Instagram. So read on to find out what features make it stand out from the rest.
Boomerang from Instagram comes with hardly any interface at all. This makes it quite straightforward and easy to use even if you’re a first timer. Once you’ve allowed it to use your phone camera, a selfie view will be displayed on the screen alongside a camera switcher and big shoot button.
You can activate the ‘Selfieboom’ mode by switching to the front-facing camera. If you select the rear-facing one, you’ll see a tooltip suggesting that you try finding a moving object.
Content and Features: 4.5/5
Boomerang from Instagram can make your everyday moments unexpected and fun. With this app, you can create mini videos looping back and forth and share with friends. It allows you to capture the moments using either the front or rear camera. As mentioned, you won’t be subjected to any sign-up process, and you just have to download and begin capturing immediately.
With the short time window allowed for each video, you’ll find the urge to explore new outdoor locations and create original content.
User Experience: 4/5
The app is quite simple and straightforward to use since it only has a single feature. With its one button, you only have to point your camera and press shoot. In just one tap, the app can take ten photos then stitch them together, speed up the video, iron out any bumps, then loop it back and forth. Additionally, since the initial download, it has been working seamlessly on the device. Notably, a few lags have been experienced, but the app doesn’t crash.
This app is available for Android and iOS. The App Store version works with gadgets beyond iOS 8.0 and can be installed on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. The Play Store version compatibility is not specific and varies with the device.
